UK Tour — 2012
3–4 June 2012 · Manchester & London
Wizkid — First UK Tour
An early landmark moment in Wizkid’s international journey and the rise of Afrobeats in the UK.
In 2012, Wizkid embarked on his first major UK tour, produced by Cokobar.com in collaboration with SMADE, EME, and Phoenix. The tour marked a defining moment in his career, taking Afrobeats from grassroots diaspora spaces to sold-out headline venues. The tour opened in Manchester on 3 June 2012, before culminating in a sold-out headline show at O2 Academy Islington in London on 4 June 2012. Supporting performances included Sneakbo, with special appearances from DJ Djibril Cissé. This tour signalled a shift — proving that African artists could command UK stages, audiences, and cultural attention long before Afrobeats entered the global mainstream. Extensive behind-the-scenes and live tour footage was documented by Cokobar and Factory78, capturing a pivotal chapter in the culture’s early international expansion.
